Amir Sahibzada Named Chief Risk Officer of ING U.S. Investment Management
ING U.S. Investment Management, which plans to rebrand as Voya Investment Management in May 2014, announced today that Amir Sahibzada, 43, has been promoted to chief risk officer. Sahibzada, who previously served as managing director, head of investment risk, replaces Chet Ragavan, who was promoted to chief risk officer of ING U.S., Inc., ING U.S. Investment Management’s parent company, earlier this month. Sahibzada will report to ING U.S. Investment Management CEO Jeffrey Becker and Ragavan.
In connection with Sahibzada’s promotion, Brad Taylor, 49, who most recently served as senior vice president, investment risk for ING U.S. Investment Management, will become head of investment risk management and assume Sahibzada’s prior responsibilities.
“With more than 20 years of market and credit risk experience, Amir has a strong background that will continue to benefit our investment platforms and business overall, and I’m pleased to have him join the senior leadership team of ING U.S. Investment Management,” said Becker. “Since joining the firm several years ago, Amir has made a number of strong contributions and helped us successfully demonstrate our robust risk management culture and capabilities to clients.”
“Amir’s strong technical skills and partnership with the current leadership of ING U.S. Investment Management will allow for a seamless transition into his new role,” said Ragavan. “I’m looking forward to continuing to work closely with Amir and Brad to build upon our strong risk management practices. I’m also pleased that we can fill these important roles from within our organization – being able to do so speaks to our strong risk talent and culture.”
Before joining ING U.S. Investment Management in 2010, Sahibzada served as managing director and global head of risk management with D.B. Zwirn & Co. Prior to that role, he was with ABN AMRO Bank for over 14 years, holding various risk management positions covering both market and credit risk areas. Sahibzada holds a B.A. in physics and mathematics from Wabash College in Indiana and an M.B.A. from The University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business.
Since joining ING in 1999, Taylor has held a number of risk management roles, including in the corporate insurance risk management department at ING Group’s headquarters in Amsterdam from 2001 to 2003.
