The Voya Foundation is the primary channel for our community investment work, which is comprised of grants, signature partnerships and initiatives to galvanize employees in support of their communities. Voya Financial® employees teach financial literacy, deliver Meals on Wheels, plant trees, build homes and much more. They also hold non-profit board seats and leadership roles in community-building organizations that reflect our diverse workforce. Voya Financial also funds charitable sponsorships to support key non-profit organization events and development efforts.
Our Foundation’s mission is to improve the quality of life in the communities where Voya Financial operates and its employees and customers live. Through charitable giving, the Voya Foundation, governed by a board of directors, focuses on exemplary programs in the giving priority areas of financial education and children’s education. In addition, the Foundation supports disaster relief efforts and matches employees’ donations to nonprofits organizations in their communities.
The Foundation’s investments in financial education align with the company’s core competencies and our corporate mission, in particular Voya Financial’s emphasis on retirement readiness. We believe financially savvy individuals are better able to achieve greater financial independence, and ultimately, a secure financial future.
We invest in education initiatives in order to contribute to building an educated workforce and make an impact in reducing the dropout rate. A strong human capital pipeline is critical to the long-term success of Voya Financial, as well as to the nation’s competitiveness in a global economy. We also believe education is the key to healthy communities, which fosters the sustainability and growth of our business.
Voya Foundation signature partnerships draw upon the full resources of our company to address dramatic, pressing social needs and ills. Designed, funded, and implemented by the Voya Foundation in conjunction with our non-profit partners, these programs bring together financial resources and employee volunteer time in long-term, multi-tiered projects that change people’s lives. Signature programs typically address our giving priorities of financial education and children’s education.
Support for disaster relief efforts reflects the company’s commitment to the people who comprise our workforce and customer base. We enter each year hoping that disaster relief will be unnecessary, yet prepared to help our neighbors and employees when a crisis strikes.
